Twofer Tuesday - Spencer and Tony

It's not that surprising when you hear about a 60's rocker such as Spencer Davis (81) punching out.  However, when it's an 80's rocker who dies at only 62 years of age, you stop and think - man life really is short and should definitely not be taken for granted.

Spencer Davis died from complications resulting from having had pneumonia (click here.)

With Steve Winwood as his lead singer, this Spencer Davis tune (below) always made me wanna get up and move.  (Quick aside on Steve here, after his stint with Spencer Davis, he was also lead singer for Traffic and Blind Faith before going out on is own as a solo artist.  His friend Eric Clapton is the only other dude I can think of who can match/top that resume with his membership in the Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith and Derek and the Dominoes before going solo.  Note the Blind Faith connection there between Steve and Eric. There was only 1 album from those boys but what an album.)

Tony Lewis on the other hand was only in one group - the Outfield.  I hear you saying "Who?"  But listen to their biggest hit and you'll recognize it immediately.  Tony's cause of death was not announced.  The hit song Your Love was written by Tony's bandmate John Spinks who died in 2014 at the age of 60.
