Gov. Hogan's Enforcement of Virus Measures

On Tuesday of this week, Maryland Gov. Hogan sent a letter to all County leaders.  (Excerpt above.)

Yesterday I received an email from our Executive Director of the Maryland State Licensed Beverage Association:

Dear Members:
In a letter to county leaders yesterday, Governor Hogan has asked local enforcement agencies to step up enforcement on of public health measures to avoid re-closure of bars and restaurants:

  • Bars and restaurants are open for seated service only with physical distancing and capacity restrictions.  Customers must be seated at least six feet apart from other guests.  Standing and congregating in bar areas is strictly prohibited
  • All staff must wear a face covering while working and interacting with customers.
  • For facilities with booths, every other booth must be closed.
  • No more than six people may sit at a table.
Additional details are provided in the June 10, 2020 Governor's Order and Maryland Health Directives that we forwarded in the following e-mail.

Please make every effort to assure that all staff are following the guidelines above.  Governor Hogan's letter also mentions "The vast majority of bars and restaurants in our state are in compliance, but some are flagrantly violating the law and endangering public health."

Accordingly I am asking that all folks entering and spending time in Buzzy's Country Store be mindful of and follow the above measures.  Masks must be worn and social distancing adhered to.  While in Buzzy's anyone drinking and/or hanging out must be seated.

Should Maryland experience any spike in the number of virus cases, Gov. Hogan will once again close all bars and restaurants.   Please people, follow his rules as outlined above.

Although I do need a shot of music after discussing this, I got no song today.   That's just how bummed out I am about having to deal with all this crap.  To quote John Lennon "Even hate my rock and roll" (click here.)  (The again, maybe I did have a song for you after all.  Be sure to catch Yoko quarantining herself in a bag at the beginning of the song.  That was awesome.)
