Yesterday's post about the declining numbers of British pubs reminded me of the 2006 Washington Post article about St. Mary's Counties' vanishing country stores. It featured a front page article and photo of Buzzy and Myrtle (click here) as it discussed how country stores were disappearing.
I was still working on Base when the article appeared in the Post. Someone emailed me "Great article on your Dad's store. But I think Myrtle has been sitting on that bar stool waaaay too long."
