This is Buzzy's Country Store blog designed to keep you apprised of what's going on at the Store. Buzzy's is a general store located in St. Mary's County, Southern Maryland near Pt. Lookout State Park. Buzzy and Jean Ridgell purchased the Store from Jean's father Harry Raley in 1953. Buzzy operated it until his passing in 2009. His son J. Scott Ridgell is the current owner.

If You Cross a Robot and a Tractor You Will Get a Transfarmer

Another way to support local farming efforts is to join a Community Supported Agriculture farm.  This is a win-win because you support local farmers while receiving fresh produce all summer long. You pay an upfront subscription fee to farmers in return for a share of the harvest.  For more info click here.

The following describes a local CSA, the Even Star Organic Farm located on Far Cry Road just down from the Homegrown Market.  Check it out.

All of the above was just an elaborate excuse for me to show you this old photo I found of my son Brady helping his Great Uncle Tinkie with some chores around the farm.  Tomatoes are in the buckets but I'm not sure what's that in the brown plastic bag.
