This is Buzzy's Country Store blog designed to keep you apprised of what's going on at the Store. Buzzy's is a general store located in St. Mary's County, Southern Maryland near Pt. Lookout State Park. Buzzy and Jean Ridgell purchased the Store from Jean's father Harry Raley in 1953. Buzzy operated it until his passing in 2009. His son J. Scott Ridgell is the current owner.

I've Seen (And Heard) That Road Before

Lots of churn (click here) over how Phil Spector took this Paul McCartney song and added all the strings and big band sound to it.  I recall another critic once noting that Spector took a very nice, rather simple tune and made it sound like a funeral song.  That may have had something to do with my mixed emotions about it too because I like my music upbeat.   Accordingly, this is not one of my favorite Beatles' tunes.

And yet, I still hear it running through my mind whenever I need a song to get me thru some not-so-good days such as today when we bury my Mom.
