Take the pledge (click here) and then go buy some local products. One of the rumors connected with the Weis buy out of the Food Lions is that they prefer to sell local products in their stores. That's a good thing, but with all of our roadside produce vendors and established shops, we are very fortunate that we already have access to lots of local products.
In South County for instance, we have the Home Grown Market at Hermanville, Sivak's just below there, Trossbach's Produce Stand located in Scotland and Kellam's Seafood adjacent St. Michael's Church in Ridge. (Check out excellent Rick Boyd article on Paul in a recent Enterprise (click here.)
Another place I like is up in Morganza on Dr. Johnson Road (just after Chopticon High School) Friendly Hall Farm. They have a wide variety of local products including meats, produce, honey and fruits.
Go buy some local stuff not just this week but whenever you can.
